Renowned Artist Kanan Khant to Showcase Indian Folk Art-Inspired Artworks at the prestigious Kamalnayan Bajaj Art Gallery

An upcoming exhibition, “Maya 2,” is set to grace the Kamalnayan Bajaj Art Gallery in Mumbai from December 4th to 9th, 2023. It will spotlight the mesmerizing artistry of the renowned artist Kanan Khant. The exhibition is a sequel to the successful showcase titled “Maya” held at Jehangir Art Gallery in December, 2021 where the artist’s work invited a lot of praise from critics, experts and art-lovers alike.

Inspired by the enchanting Kalamkari folk art style of India, Kanan pays homage to the forgotten Indian artisans at this showcase, particularly women, through her stunning artworks. By depicting the rich tradition of Kalamkari in her paintings , Kanan skillfully conveys narratives akin to the artists who once travelled between villages, sharing tales through this art form. Her exhibition will be a fusion of femininity, spirituality, and mythology, where she beautifully intertwines the stories of Radha and Krishna, Buddha, and the chakras of our body.

Her commitment to continuous learning and experimentation in her art, embraces her belief that she remains a perpetual student of life. Kanan’s art has not only resonated with art lovers in India but also captivated audiences worldwide. She has previously exhibited at prestigious venues like the Jehangir Art Gallery, Nehru Centre, India Art Fair, among others in India. Internationally, her paintings were exhibited at the World Trade Center, Dubai during the global art fair, ‘World Art Dubai’.
